Now the hard work begins

In preparation of modifying the car to take the Type 9 five speed gearbox we spent Saturday afternoon stripping out those superb Cobra seats, removing the in-car entertainment system and taking up the carpets and under-felt.

Apart from some small areas of surface rust, the front floor pans looked in pretty good condition and when we offered up the Retro Ford modified gearbox tunnel we were both very impressed with the preliminary fit.

The overall dimensions, angles and shaped edges of the panel all closely followed the original floor pan so we're confident that the actual installation of the new tunnel will be virtually hassle free.
